MIGRATIONS
Two women. One is in the air, the other one is about to fly away.
Migrations is a duo mixing contemporary & vertical dance.
It is a poetic reflection on migration & border crossing.
INTENT STATMENT
MIGRATIONS is about borders disappearence. It is about borders as limits, « pigeon houses » cages. With Migrations, we want to go beyond those limits, both physical and emotionnal, and beyond territory : the territory of dance, the one of body. We question the creation and integration of a border till its complete disappearance.
Migrations is a choreographic meeting between contemporary & pole dance, between baroque music & noise, between tradition & modernity.
Beyond the subject we are treating, we are willing to bring the pole dance out of its usual strip club walls, to scenic arts, circus & street arts. The creation of the play started as a choreographic research lab, mixing pole dance and contemporary dance.
2 versions: SCENIC / URBAN
The performance was designed in two versions : the first one for conventionnal theatres, the other one for non conventionnal spaces for dance (miscellaneous urban spaces, streets, parcs, museums, halls...).
